GeekCash GPU Benchmark

Hi everyone, the intention of this article is to serve as a base so for new users who want to start mining GeekCash can have an idea of how much mega hash they can get from their cards and how many coins may get depending on difficulty, remember this is not exact since it would depend on different factors like difficulty, temperature, power, memory of the GPU and for last I dont have profetional hardware equipment for testing neither I’m a professional overclocker, I’m just trying to help others gathering basic knowledge and I’ll improve every other project like this that I do.

This is the hardware used on the test bench:

  • CPU: Intel Pentium G4400
  • Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3
  • Motherboard: ASUS z270-a
  • Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY DDR4 2400Mhz 8GB(2x4GB)
  • SSD: Kingston UV 400 120GB
  • Rosewill RCRC-17001 Riser Adapter


  • Windows 7 Pro / Latest updates
  • Nvidia Driver 398.82
  • MSI Afterburner 4.5
  • GeekMiner 0.1.1
  • Awesome Miner, all data was gatther from Awesome Miner Logs


The testing of each card is very simple, the cards are air-cooled except the EVGA 1080, basic testing was done, no mods, stock from the box cards, no external cooling.

For each card:

  • Reinstall drivers with DDU, link
  • MSI Afterburner for Overclocking
  • Change parameters untill getting the highest and stable amount of megahash from each card.
  • Each card tested for 1 hour exactly, remmeber that difficulty needs to be take in consideration.
  • Ambient temperature outside 30c/86f
  • Room temperature 24c/75.2f, air conditioning

  • MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Armor 3GB
  • Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GB OC
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1070Ti STRIX 8GB
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1070Ti Armor 8G

I guess a question that will pop up is how you end up with this cards, almost a year 1/2 ago when I started mining profits were awesome so I started investigating more and more and decided to get a bunch of cards of different brands and models, I started with MSI as you can tell is one of my favorites hardware brand, a good balance between looks, performance and cost. Short story I ended up buying MSI GTX 1070 Armor 8GB for my mining farm since then there were no 1070ti, the rest of the cards have them on two rigs at the office that I use for testing.

Here the hashing power results chart:

For the winner is very clear and expected that a 1070ti would beat the 1080 and a plain 1070, in this case by a very low margin ASUS GeForce GTX 1070Ti STRIX 8G

On the battle of plain 1070 cards won the Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming but from the cost vs performance perspective I consider the Armor a better bang for the buck

The 1060 cards it’s a bit not fair since not all of them had the same type of memory, it really matters when it comes to the 1060 and it’s just a raffle you can’t know the brand of memory you are getting with the card that’s why I stop buying 1060 cards, memories varies between Samsung, Micron and Hynix, but at the end of the day the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GamingX 6GB with Samsung memory, on Geek algorithm the difference is not as notable as on other algorithms but still makes a difference.

I’m trying to get my hands on a 1080ti and just bought a 1050ti for testing, I have been inform by some users that the 1080ti makes arround 20 – 22 mhs.
